Zhang Shuhua Is Elected Chairman Of The International Leather Trade Association

At the opening of the Asia Pacific Leather Exhibition, the seventy-ninth annual conference of the international leather trade association (ICHSLTA) was successfully held in Hongkong Convention and Exhibition Center in March 30, 2008.

During the meeting, the representatives of the meeting discussed and passed the amendments to the articles of association according to the proposal of the chairman, and discussed the future development of the association in depth.

At the same time, the next chairman and vice chairman were elected: Zhang Shuhua, chairman of the China Leather Association and chairman of the association of Australian raw leather exporters, Mr. Gorman.

Founded in 1929, ICHSLTA has a glorious history of nearly 80 years and plays a very important role in the leather industry of the world.

With its good reputation, ICHSLTA has always been a platform for solidarity, exchange, cooperation and development of the world leather industry.

As a new chairman of ICHSLTA, Ms Zhang hopes to inject new vitality into the association, provide better services for members, increase the consensus between the East and West leather industry, and attract more countries to join ICHSLTA.

To this end, she has recommended to ICHSLTA that reducing membership fees and providing better services and enhancing the rights of associate members.

As a big country in leather industry, China has actively joined the ICHSLTA, earnestly travelled the work of ICHSLTA Asia Committee and made a great contribution to the promotion of international contracts in Asian countries.

Since 2004, Ms. Zhang Shuhua has been elected vice chairman of ICHSLTA, chairman of the ICHSLTA Asian Committee.

Ms. Zhang has worked hard for the Chinese leather industry for more than 40 years, and is currently the director of China Leather Association.
