India's Textile And Clothing Exports Are Expected To Reach US $32 Billion 350 Million In 2011-2012.

Sharma said that during the 2010-11 years, the textile industry achieved an export of US $26 billion 800 million. He also indicated that the scale of the domestic textile industry might reach 65 billion US dollars at the bottom of the Eleventh Five Plan (2007-12). The ratio of textiles and clothing to India's total export basket dropped from 11.4% in 2008-09 to 10.63% in 2010-11 years.
Speaking of the latest figures released by the world trade organization, Sharma said that India's textile and clothing exports were in the international market in 2009.
Mr. Sharma also said that up to now, India has increased 9 million spindles in the eleventh five years, and the number of net spindles in India has reached 48 million spindles in March 2011.
In addition, the output of cotton yarn increased from 2 billion 948 million kg in 2007-08 to 3 billion 510 million kg in 2010-11. Fabric production increased from 55 billion 257 million square meters in 2007-08 to 61 billion 57 million square meters in 2010-11 years.
