International Experts Have Successfully Developed Bioactive Nanoscale Fibers
Scientists have recently studied a new method of producing glass nanofibers, which relies on the well-known technology of laser spinning.
The research team is from University of Vigo in the United States and Rutgers University, Imperial College London in London.
The team successfully extracted nanofibers from bioactive glass.
The same material used in medicine can promote bone regeneration.
"Laser spinning technology can extract glass nanofibers from the composition, and other methods can not achieve this goal."
Fetero, an ultraviolet researcher, explains that he is also a researcher of the new research.
One of the highlights of the new technology is the use of high-energy lasers for pre - material and then heating.
Then a strong gas current is used to extend and cool the hyperfine fiber material.
Another important breakthrough is that new technology has been able to operate under relatively common environmental conditions, and even every process of the technology can be carried out easily under this condition.
This means that during the period of product production, scientists will control the production environment more easily, which is hard to see in the field of nanotechnology production.
In the near future, the team's new achievements can be used in hospitals, researchers say.
Because of its nanostructure, the various biological activities of glass nanofibers will be more elastic and more durable, which means it can promote bone regeneration.
According to previous studies, new bone cells are more likely to accept nanomaterials.
This new technology can also be used for other purposes to produce flame retardant fabrics, carbon dioxide capture systems, and even composite materials.
Composite materials need nanofiber reinforcement at present.
